Edward Wentworth Dillon. Kent 1900-1923. Vanity Fair. 'The Champion County' by OWL and dated September 13th 1913. Men of the Day 2339.
' Kent's yearly bid for the County Championship dates from Mr. Dillon's acceptance of the captaincy in 1909. In that year and in 1909, Kent were champions. In 1911 they were second in the list, and in 1912, third. This year they are the champions once again.
Mr. Dillon began playing cricket for Kent in 1900, when he was still at Rugby. He was in the Oxford Elevens of 1901 and 1902. His university career, like that of many other great men, was abbreviated' ....
